About this team: The Rehabilitation Services department at Mount Sinai Hospital is an interprofessional team dedicated to optimizing functional mobility and supporting safe care transitions across acute inpatient populations. We help to restore and improve physical and mental abilities after surgery, medical treatment or over the course of an illness. Operating within a University of Toronto affiliated teaching hospital, our team combines evidence-informed practice with dedicated discipline mentorship. Our work spans a range of clinical areas across the hospital, including the Emergency Department. In this role you will: • Assess, plan and provide therapeutic intervention for an assigned patient caseload according to Occupational Therapy scope of practice • Develop appropriate documentation of Occupational Therapy activities • Record workload measurement • Participate in inter-professional clinics and rounds • Facilitate therapy groups • Develop and evaluate programs • Participate in teaching activities for Occupational Therapy students, including provision of clinical placements, laboratory teaching, and classroom teaching • Participate in teaching students from other disciplines • Participate in development of student programs • Provide in-service education as appropriate to colleagues • Participate in research activities as appropriate within the Department of Rehabilitation in collaboration with other departments/professions • Create custom pressure relief cushions and custom thermoplastic splinting • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements: Mandatory • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario Preferred • Experience with administering cognitive assessments (MOCA, MMSE) Skills and Knowledge • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Excellent occupational therapy clinical skills with a broad variety of diagnostic groups • Demonstrated excellent skills in collaboration with inter-professional team • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your occupational therapy career at Sinai Health, apply now and let us know why you’d be a great addition to our team.
