The role is grounded around stroke prevention and brain health through lifestyle medicine, including quality improvement projects, community-based interventions and education focused on nutrition, physical activity, stress reduction, quality sleep, substance use, and social engagement.   Established in October 2023, the JSSC brings together patients, communities, clinicians, and scientists to prevent stroke and build better brain health into mainstream clinical practice through integrated, patient-centered care. Grounded in the principles of lifestyle medicine, the Centre enhances outpatient services to support stroke prevention, improve post-stroke quality of life, and promote long-term brain health.   Duties Supports the planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of clinical, community-based, and quality improvement projects related to stroke prevention, women’s brain health, and lifestyle medicine.   Applies research principles, methods, and techniques to data collection, management, analysis, interpretation, and reporting.   Conducts literature searches and reviews to support research projects, grant applications, educational initiatives, and knowledge translation activities.   Develops and maintains study databases and supports data quality, organization, and secure data management.   Conducts quantitative statistical analyses and contributes to qualitative and/or mixed-methods analyses, as appropriate.   Collaborates closely with patients, community partners, clinicians, researchers, trainees, and external collaborators.   Supports patient and community engagement activities, including meetings, consultations, focus groups, and co-design initiatives.   Coordinates data and information flow within the research team and with external collaborators and participating sites.   Maintains regulatory and study documentation and assists with Research Ethics Board submissions, amendments, renewals, and other research-related approvals.   Interprets findings and contributes to abstracts, presentations, reports, manuscripts, grant applications, and other scholarly outputs.   Supports the development and dissemination of patient-facing educational materials and knowledge translation resources.   May contribute to website content, social media, multimedia educational resources, and other digital dissemination activities.   Assists with the training and supervision of students, volunteers, and other research personnel, as appropriate.   Performs other duties consistent with the scope of the Research Analyst II position.  At minimum, Bachelors degree in health sciences, life sciences, public health, psychology, epidemiology, or a related field required; graduate-level training is an asset.  Minimum 3 years of relevant research experience.  Experience using statistical analysis and data management software applications, required.  Strong communication and organization skills.  Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and with patients and community partners.  Experience with web design, social media, digital communications, or multimedia educational resources is an asset.  Interest in innovation, women’s health, stroke prevention, brain health, and multidisciplinary research is an asset.  Exercises moderate judgement and decision making, using established policies and procedures, to determine work methods and resolve problems.  Demonstrated initiative, attention to detail, adaptability, and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.  Why join UHN?
