Location: Addis, Ethiopia Field Based Role Reports to: Commercial Lead Ethiopia Application Close Date: October 16, 2026 Purpose of the Role The Sales Representative Pharma Portfolio will drive territory sales growth and achieve assigned revenue targets by implementing effective sales and marketing strategies, promoting the company’s pharmaceutical products through scientific and value-based engagement with healthcare professionals, building strong customer relationships, identifying market opportunities, and executing territory plans in full compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: Drive Territory Performance and Business Growth Develop and execute an annual territory business plan aligned with company objectives. Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, market share, and profitability targets for the assigned portfolio. Prioritize and segment customers to maximize coverage and resource utilization. Identify new business opportunities, expand product penetration, and secure new accounts. Monitor product availability, distribution, and stock levels across pharmacies, hospitals, and wholesalers, taking corrective actions where necessary. Prepare accurate sales forecasts, pipeline updates, and territory performance reports to support business planning. Build Strategic Customer Partnerships and Deliver Scientific Promotion Build trusted relationships with healthcare professionals (HCPs), pharmacists, hospitals, wholesalers, and key institutional customers. Conduct high-quality scientific detailing using approved product information and clinical evidence. Deliver compelling product presentations that address customer needs and improve patient outcomes. Plan and execute customer engagement activities, including CMEs, product launches, hospital meetings, and promotional campaigns. Manage customer inquiries, objections, and complaints professionally while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Execute Commercial Excellence through Market Intelligence and Cross-functional Collaboration Continuously monitor competitor products, pricing, promotional activities, and market dynamics. Collect customer insights and communicate market opportunities, risks, and emerging healthcare trends to management. Support successful product launches, marketing campaigns, and promotional initiatives within the assigned territory. Track territory KPIs and recommend business improvement initiatives based on market data and customer feedback. Ensure Compliance, Ethical Promotion, and Pharmacovigilance Promote products in full compliance with company policies, EFDA regulations, and applicable pharmaceutical industry codes. Use only approved promotional materials and communicate information consistent with the approved product label. Complete all mandatory compliance, pharmacovigilance, and regulatory training and demonstrate adherence in daily activities. Demonstrate Operational Excellence and Professional Development Prepare and submit timely daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly activity, sales, expense, and territory reports. Plan and optimize travel routes, customer visits, and resource utilization to maximize productivity and call effectiveness. Utilize digital tools, CRM platforms, and sales analytics to improve customer engagement and performance management. Continuously update knowledge of therapeutic areas, products, clinical evidence, competitors, and treatment guidelines. Participate actively in coaching, sales meetings, product training, and performance reviews to strengthen professional capability. Requirements The basics: Qualifications and Experience A bachelor’s degree in pharmacy (B.Pharm) Professional license from the appropriate Ethiopian regulatory body Qualified candidates must demonstrate professional sales skills with 2–5 years of successful pharmaceutical sales or medical representative experience in sexual and reproductive health / medical devices / pharma. Must demonstrate the ability to comprehend and verbalize highly technical product information.
