This is a player-coach role: you'll personally run full life-cycle recruiting for our most critical and complex technical roles, while also managing a small team of recruiters and/or sourcers supporting the broader tech hiring effort. You'll report to the Director of Recruiting and partner closely with engineering, product, and design leadership to translate hiring plans into real, hired talent. The right person is energized by both — closing a hard search themselves and developing the people around them to do the same. What You’ll Do: Own full-cycle recruiting for senior and specialized Engineering, Product, and Design searches, from intake through offer close. Manage, coach, and develop a small team of recruiters supporting technical hiring, balancing their growth with your own individual search load. Partner directly with engineering, product, and design leaders to translate hiring plans into sourcing and interview strategy. Set and maintain the standard for technical hiring at Maven — structured interview plans, calibration, and data-driven pipeline management. Use funnel and time-to-fill data to identify bottlenecks and drive process improvements across the tech recruiting function. Leverage AI to streamline sourcing, screening, and candidate communication, in line with Maven's AI-first recruiting practices. Stay current on the technical talent market to advise hiring leaders on competitive positioning, leveling, and compensation. Represent Maven's technical hiring brand to candidates — ensuring every touchpoint reflects our mission and culture. What You’ll Bring: 8+ years of full life-cycle technical recruiting experience, including 3+ years managing or leading recruiters/sourcers. You've built and personally run technical recruiting for a specialized, high-velocity team — and scaled a recruiting pod around you to do the same — without dropping the bar on either side. You genuinely want both jobs: closing your own hard Engineering, Product, or Design searches for Maven's leadership, and developing the recruiters and sourcers who work for you. One without the other wouldn't satisfy you. You've managed people through at least 2-3 full performance review cycles, from goal-setting through calibration, and hold your own search pipeline to that same rigor. You know the difference between a good hire and a great one for a mission-driven health tech company like Maven, and hold yourself to that bar in your own searches just as much as you hold your team to it. You measure what matters — pipeline conversion, source quality, time-to-fill against our SLAs — across both your own reqs and your team's, and use data to coach, not just report status. You give direct, honest feedback and build trust by being straight with your team, not easy on them — the same way you'd want a manager to treat you. You're excited to recruit for a mission that matters: building the teams that make healthcare work for women and families. The base salary range for this role is $153,000 - $207,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive equity and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset. At Maven we believe that a diverse set of backgrounds and experiences enrich our teams and allow us to achieve above and beyond our goals. If you do not have experience in all of the areas detailed above, we hope that you will share your unique background with us in your application and how it can be additive to our teams. Benefits That Work For You Our benefits are designed to support your health, well-being and career development, helping you thrive both personally and professionally. We remain focused on providing a competitive benefits package for our employees.
