Your Opportunity The Business Analyst is responsible for translating customer business needs into clear, actionable requirements that guide the configuration, development, testing, and implementation of ConcertAI's Data Aggregation and Analytics solutions. This role serves as the functional requirements lead throughout the implementation lifecycle, partnering directly with pharmaceutical and life sciences customers to understand business objectives, workflows, data requirements, and business rules. The Business Analyst translates these needs into detailed business requirements, functional specifications, configuration requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria. The Business Analyst works closely with Solution Architects, who own the overall solution architecture and design, and with Project Managers, Product, Engineering, and Data Operations teams to ensure solutions are implemented in accordance with approved requirements and achieve the intended customer outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and requirements-management skills with pharmaceutical and healthcare data knowledge, technical aptitude, and the ability to effectively engage both business and technical stakeholders. How You'll Make an Impact Customer Discovery & Business Requirements Partner directly with pharmaceutical and life sciences customers to understand business objectives, workflows, analytical needs, data requirements, and operational processes. Facilitate detailed discovery sessions, requirements workshops, and stakeholder interviews with business and technical participants. Analyze current-state business processes and document future-state functional requirements. Translate customer needs into clear business requirements, functional specifications, user stories, process flows, business rules, and acceptance criteria. Maintain requirements documentation and traceability throughout the implementation lifecycle. Identify gaps, ambiguities, conflicting requirements, and unresolved business decisions and drive them to resolution with appropriate stakeholders. Ensure customer requirements remain aligned with approved project scope and the established solution architecture. Partner with the Solution Architect when requirements have implications for overall solution design, platform capabilities, data architecture, or integrations. Functional & Configuration Requirements Define detailed functional and configuration requirements for ConcertAI Data Foundry, Maestro Configuration, and Cadence Suite applications. Translate customer business rules into clear configuration specifications and expected system behaviors. Partner with Product and Engineering teams to clarify functional requirements throughout development and configuration. Evaluate delivered functionality against documented business requirements and acceptance criteria. Identify requirements that cannot be addressed through existing configuration or functionality and escalate potential product or solution gaps to the Solution Architect and Product teams. Maintain documentation of business rules, configuration decisions, assumptions, and customer approvals. Data Requirements & Validation Define detailed business requirements for customer and third-party data used within ConcertAI solutions. Document data definitions, mappings, business rules, transformation requirements, and expected outcomes from a business perspective. Analyze healthcare and commercial datasets to validate requirements and investigate data-related questions. Write SQL queries to investigate issues, validate data, and support requirements analysis and testing. Partner with Data Engineering teams to clarify data mapping, transformation, and integration requirements. Validate that data outputs and application functionality meet documented customer business requirements. Identify and investigate data-quality issues in partnership with Data Operations and Engineering teams. Testing & Business Validation Develop comprehensive User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on approved business requirements. Coordinate customer UAT activities in partnership with the Project Manager. Prepare customers for UAT by ensuring test scenarios, expected results, data requirements, and testing processes are clearly defined. Support customers during testing by clarifying expected functionality and business rules. Analyze defects and determine whether issues represent defects, requirements gaps, configuration changes, or scope changes. Partner with Engineering, Product, and Data teams to drive resolution of functional and data-related defects. Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and confirm that approved requirements have been successfully validated prior to go-live. Support production readiness and post-launch validation activities. Implementation & Cross-Functional Collaboration Serve as the functional subject-matter lead throughout implementation. Partner closely with Project Managers to ensure requirements, decisions, dependencies, and customer actions are incorporated into the overall implementation plan. Work with Solution Architects to ensure detailed requirements remain consistent with the approved solution design. Provide business context and requirements clarification to Product, Engineering, Data Operations, and QA teams throughout implementation. Participate in implementation kickoff meetings, design reviews, status discussions, testing reviews, and go-live readiness activities as appropriate. Support post-launch stabilization by investigating functional and data issues and validating resolution against customer requirements. Capture implementation learnings and recurring requirements that can improve future implementations. Product & Platform Collaboration Identify recurring customer requirements and implementation patterns that may represent opportunities for product or platform improvements. Provide structured customer and implementation feedback to Product Management. Partner with Product to distinguish customer-specific requirements from broader platform needs. Contribute business and customer context to roadmap discussions while maintaining focus on scalable platform capabilities.
