About the Role AbbVie's International Business Analytics team sits at the intersection of commercial strategy, enterprise technology, and business transformation — and this role is central to that mission. As Associate Director, International Business Analytics, you will define the therapeutic area analytics agenda on a global scale, shape how data-driven decision-making is embedded across the organization and deliver measurable business impact. In this role, you will drive high-priority analytics initiatives, serve as a senior advisor to brand and commercial leadership, and actively champion a culture of analytics excellence across AbbVie's international organization. What You'll Do Define Strategic Analytics Direction Provide forward-looking insights that directly shape international brand strategy and performance optimization. Play a leading role in the design and continuous evolution of Business Analytics function — establishing frameworks, standards, and best practices across brands. Proactively identify new and innovative approaches that would improve our ability to answer commercial business questions and transform it into analytic solutions. Drive Collaboration Partner strategically with Business Intelligence, Brand Leadership, Data Strategy, and IT functions to co-develop, launch, and scale analytics capabilities that drive competitive advantage. Lead strategic engagement with external data and technology partners (including IQVIA, ZS, Veeva, and others), directing vendor relationships and ensuring AbbVie accesses best-in-class data assets and capabilities. Partner with internal teams and external data vendors to provide regular data education and training across the Commercial organization and introduce new leading-edge analytics to enhance our data and analytics capabilities. Essential Skills & Experience A demonstrated passion for data, analytics, and driving business transformation at enterprise scale 12+ years of progressive analytics experience, including 7+ years in the pharmaceutical industry, with a track record of leading high-impact, complex global analytics programs Deep expertise across pharma data types (sales, promotional, real-world, patient-level data) with the ability to synthesize complex datasets into strategic insights Deep knowledge of data and service vendors including IQVIA, Veeva, ZS, and comparable ecosystem partners Proven leadership in a complex, matrixed, global environment — driving cross-functional partnerships and alignment across diverse stakeholder groups Executive-level communication and presentation skills — able to distill complex analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives that influence strategy and drive action Demonstrated expertise in emerging technologies including AI, ML, Big Data architecture, and Data Ontology — with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value Education Bachelor's degree required Advanced degree (PhD, MA, MBA) strongly preferred, particularly with a focus on applied business analytics, data science, or another quantitative discipline Nice to Have Hands-on proficiency in PySpark, Python, or SQL — and the ability to engage credibly with data engineering and technical teams Experience leading deployments on Palantir Foundry or comparable enterprise analytics and reporting platforms Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ​ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
