The Director of Substance Use Recovery - OP Therapy Services provides clinical and operational leadership for outpatient adolescent and adult substance use recovery therapy programs across the assigned region. This role supports therapists and counselors through clinical supervision, professional development, quality improvement, and program oversight while helping ensure services align with ASAM standards and organizational expectations. Working collaboratively with Substance Use Recovery leadership and other agency partners, the Director helps strengthen coordinated, accessible, high-quality care for individuals and families in the communities we serve. This is a great opportunity for someone who: Is passionate about strengthening substance use recovery services and supporting individuals on their wellness journeys Enjoys developing and mentoring clinicians while fostering a collaborative, accountable team culture Brings strong clinical judgment and an interest in quality, program development, and continuous improvement Is energized by the opportunity to help expand and strengthen behavioral healthcare services in rural communities Key Responsibilities Provide clinical leadership, supervision, coaching, and professional development for outpatient SUD therapists and counselors Oversee quality, continuity, documentation, utilization, productivity, and clinical standards across assigned programs Support compliance with ASAM, CARF, state, organizational, and other applicable standards and requirements Partner with Quality, Compliance, Training, and other departments to strengthen clinical practice and staff development Collaborate with Substance Use Recovery Directors and other agency leaders on program development and service improvement Lead team communication, performance development, onboarding, hiring, and day-to-day staff operations Monitor program outcomes and performance metrics, identify opportunities for improvement, and support implementation of effective solutions Coordinate with external partners and agencies as appropriate to strengthen services and continuity of care Support a culture grounded in ethical practice, professional growth, collaboration, and person-centered care Provide clinical or crisis response in accordance with current certifications and organizational protocols Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work required At least one (1) year of experience required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Must possess and maintain a current, active clinical license in the state of Missouri (PLPC, LMSW, PLMFT, LPC, LCSW, or LMFT, as applicable) in good standing Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification within 60 days of hire Must obtain and maintain certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology (CPI, MANDT, or CALM) within 60 days of hire You’ll be a great fit for this role if you: Have a strong clinical foundation in substance use recovery and/or co-occurring behavioral health services Are a thoughtful, supportive supervisor who enjoys helping clinicians build confidence, skills, and professional judgment Can balance clinical quality, staff development, program operations, and organizational priorities Communicate effectively and build productive relationships across teams, departments, and community partners Are comfortable using data and performance measures to identify opportunities and guide improvement Value collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning Connect with our mission to Inspire Hope.
