UHN’s vision is to build A Healthier World and it’s only because of the talented and dedicated people who work here that we are continually bringing that vision closer to reality. www.uhn.ca Union: Non Union Number of vacancies: 1 Replacement or New: Replacement Site: Toronto General Department: International Education Programs, Toronto Addis Ababa Academic Collaboration (TAAAC) Reports to: Director, International Education Programs - TAAAC Hours: 37.5 hr/week Wages: $84,006 - $126,005 per annum Status: Permanent Full Time Closing Date: September 8, 2026 Position Summary The Manager, International Education Programs is the operational lead for day-to-day delivery of TAAAC’s international education programs, responsible for the seamless coordination, logistics, compliance, and participant experience across a portfolio of 25+ programs and 90+ UT faculty participants traveling annually to Ethiopia, ~20 learners exchanged arriving from Ethiopia for educational experiences in Toronto. Reporting to the Director, the Manager translates strategic priorities into executable program plans, maintains the systems and relationships that keep programs running effectively. Ensures that every UofT faculty participant deploying to Addis Ababa has the support, documentation, orientation, and on-the-ground resources required for a safe and productive teaching experience and that every TAAAC learner from Ethiopia engaged in an educational opportunity in Toronto has the support, documentation, onboarding, and on-the ground resources including housing and financial supports required for a safe and productive learning experience. The Manager also supports new program development and the preparation of governance reports, grant reports, proposals, and compliance documentation, working in close collaboration with the Director and serving as the primary day-to-day contact for TAAAC personal, faculty and learners in both Toronto and Addis Ababa. Duties Develop and manage detailed operational plans, timelines, and project schedules for all assigned TAAAC programs in close coordination with Program Point People in Toronto and Addis Ababa, Addis administrative coordinators, and the Director. Manage program budgets and financial reporting, working closely with the TAAAC business officer to ensure that all financial accountabilities are met.  Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for UofT Program Point People (~20), organizing and facilitating regular communication forums to deliver education, administration updates, curriculum guidance, cultural orientation, and operational information impacting over 100 annual program participants. Coordinate all logistical elements for UofT faculty participants traveling to Addis Ababa, including health and safety protocols, business visas, travel arrangements, accommodations, cultural orientation materials, supplies Organize educational programming for International Learners at AAU and in Toronto-affiliated and community hospitals, liaising with the Medical Council of Canada, CPSO, CMPA, PGME UT, RCDSO and TAHSN hospitals as required. Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for all learners from Ethiopia engaged in educational programming in Toronto. Coordinate all logistical elements for Ethiopian learners traveling to Toronto, including health and safety protocols, visas, travel arrangements, accommodations, cultural orientation materials, and supplies. Facilitate process redesign and continuous improvement in educational programs and operational workflows, identifying inefficiencies and proposing solutions to the Director. Travel to Addis Ababa annually to conduct operational site visits, support program delivery, review participant logistics and accommodations, and strengthen working relationships with Addis-based administrative coordinators and Point People. Create, manage, coordinate, and regularly update all TAAAC website content in collaboration with UT and AAU Point People; respond to and coordinate all TAAAC website and public inquiries. Provide administrative coordination support for TAAAC Governance Committee meetings including preparation of agenda materials, status reports, and action items under the direction of the Director. Participate in and represent TAAAC at relevant operational-level committees (e.g., UT PGME, UT Africa Council working groups) as directed. Support the Director in the development and launch of new TAAAC programs by preparing operational components of new program proposals including timelines, logistics frameworks, and operational budgets. Support the planning and execution of academic events, conferences, workshops, scientific meetings, and visiting professor programs in Ethiopia and Toronto. Support the implementation and maintenance of the TAAAC quality management system, including data collection, program outcome tracking, and preparation of quality reports. Develop and maintain TAAAC standard operating procedures for program operations, participant management, and emergency protocols. Completion of Master Degree in a relevant field (Public Health, International Development, Health Administration, Global Affairs or related discipline) or recognized equivalent required. Minimum 6 years’ experience managing the development, implementation, and continuous evolution of a multi-year international education program Minimum 5–8 years of experience in program coordination or management, ideally within a university, academic health centre, or international non-governmental organization. International program management/coordination an asset. Demonstrated experience managing logistics and participant support for international programs in sub-Saharan Africa; knowledge of the Ethiopian context an asset. Proven track record in project management, compliance documentation, and standard operating procedure development. Proven track record in budgetary management, including solid foundational knowledge of accounting principles. Demonstrated financial acumen with hands-on experience with budgeting and forecasting, financial reconciliation skills, financial management systems proficiency, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting. Experience supervising staff or volunteers in a multicultural, multilingual environment. Experience with contract documentation, MOU preparation, and regulatory compliance in an academic or health context. Why join UHN?
