Program Analyst, Digital Health

Sinai Health is looking for a Program Analyst, Digital Health. In this position, you will work collaboratively and cohesively in a dynamic, fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment with a diverse group of professionals from Digital Health, Clinical Operations and Support Services as well as solution vendors and delivery partners. In this role, you will lead small to medium-sized projects focused on system upgrades, operational improvements and new technical solutions. Success on these projects relies on the working relationships you build across a multidisciplinary team. Structured thinking is one of your core strengths, especially when translating operational needs into working solutions. This strength shows in how you move from gathering technical requirements to creating and documenting technical designs, right through to implementing technical solutions. Whether configuring a new integration or enhancing an existing one for EMRs and their corresponding ancillary systems, you break technical work into clear, logical steps. The solutions you bring forward strengthen the clinical processes that care teams rely on. In this role you will: • Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving information management processes, evaluate requests for system improvements, and determine feasibility and advisability of system changes. Provide thoughtful recommendations to ensure successful implementation of new solutions, enhancements to existing solutions, version upgrades, and improvements. • Perform the configuration of new integrations and enhancements to existing integrations for EMRs and other applications and ancillary systems. • Troubleshoot technical problems and conduct analyses for efficient technical solutions that support clinical processes, functional and technical requirements. • Support the Manager with the identification, evaluation and analysis, design, development, implementation and change management of solutions as well as their maintenance and support. • Advise technology solutions/options and provide recommendations and assistance to project teams and Digital Health team members, Business, Clinical and other Programmer Analysts, Systems Engineers, software development teams. • Support project and operational initiatives through thoughtful and innovative approaches • Work with other team members and contribute to the development of technical specifications and designs for business and clinical solutions’ requirements • Manage and coordinate walkthrough and reviews of technical specifications and solution designs, test strategies and test plans, support documentation • Manage tasks and participate in activities involved in implementing new solutions and software and/or hardware upgrades: ◦ technical implementation and associated documentation ◦ availability of test environments and development of technical test scenarios ◦ oversight for vendor activities ◦ change management activities ◦ creation of solution and support documentation (operational guides, helpdesk scripts) ◦ implementation of system and application monitoring and alerting processes and transition to operations • Manage day-to-day operational aspects including incidents, issues, action items, risks, queries and change management for the solutions under your purview • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility. • Develop and/or maintain working relationships and partnerships with technology and solution vendors • Support project and operational initiatives through thoughtful and innovative approaches • Support the development and implementation of downtime processes and procedures • Contribute to the development and evaluation of RFPs • Share on-call duties with other members of the informatics team during business and non-business hours • Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required Job Requirements: Mandatory • Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent degree • 5 years of related experience • 3 years of Linux-based Infor Cloverleaf, Mirth or other interface engine experiences Preferred • Previous experience in a healthcare environment Skills and Knowledge • Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces with major EMRs, including EPIC, Cerner, and Meditech. • Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces related to BioMed devices • Working knowledge of Linux, TCL, Python, SQL and other scripting languages • Hands-on experience with all phases of the SDLC including technical requirements definition, technical specifications, usability engineering, system analysis and design, quality assurance and testing • Strong understanding of technology in a distributed architecture environment • Strong knowledge of and experience in programmer analysis and design • Hands-on experience dealing with third party software suppliers; experience customizing Vendor supplied application systems • Experience working with change control procedures • Strong interpersonal and communications skills (written and verbal) with demonstrated attention to detail • Results oriented and able to work effectively in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment • Demonstrated satisfactory work performance and attendance record If this sounds like you and you feel ready to build your information technology career within healthcare apply now and let us know why you’d be a great addition to our team.
