The Therapist/Individual Resiliency Trainer (IRT) is a key member of a person-centered, integrated team supporting individuals experiencing First Episode Psychosis (FEP). This role provides therapy, resiliency-focused skill development, and coordinated support that helps people recognize their strengths, build coping strategies, and work toward personal wellness and recovery. Services are provided in both community and office-based settings, with opportunities to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team and connect individuals and families with resources that support whole-person well-being. This is a great opportunity for someone who: Is passionate about strengths-based, recovery-oriented behavioral healthcare Enjoys helping individuals identify their strengths, develop practical skills, and work toward personally meaningful goals Values collaborative, integrated care and working alongside individuals, families, and community partners Appreciates the opportunity to provide services where they are most meaningful—including in the community Is comfortable supporting individuals through both routine and crisis situations Wants to make a meaningful difference in rural communities where access to specialized behavioral healthcare can be limited Key Responsibilities Provide individual and group psychotherapy and resiliency-focused skills training for individuals experiencing FEP Partner with individuals to develop wellness plans, strengthen coping and illness-management skills, and support functional recovery Participate as an active member of a trans-disciplinary, person-centered team Provide triage, assessment, crisis intervention, and on-call support as needed Coordinate with community and social-service partners to promote holistic care and appropriate referrals Maintain timely, accurate documentation in accordance with agency and state requirements Provide culturally responsive services that honor the unique strengths, needs, and goals of each individual and family Stay current on FEP best practices and participate in required professional development and training Provide licensure supervision, when applicable Deliver services safely and effectively across office, community, client, and field-based settings Requirements, Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Master’s degree in counseling, psychology or social work by an accredited institution required Working knowledge of DSM-5 A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and agency established minimum automobile coverage required LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Must possess and maintain a current, active clinical license in the state of Missouri (PLPC, LPC, LMSW, LCSW, PMFT, or LMFT, as applicable) in good standing Must obtain and maintain current CPR certification within 60 days of hire Must obtain and maintain certification in an approved crisis intervention methodology (CPI, MANDT, or CALM) within 60 days of hire You’ll be a great fit for this role if you: See strengths and possibilities in every person and approach care with respect, curiosity, and optimism Build trusting therapeutic relationships and communicate with empathy and cultural humility Are comfortable working independently while also contributing actively to a collaborative team Bring flexibility and sound judgment to community-based and sometimes fast-moving situations Are motivated by helping people build skills, resilience, confidence, and greater independence Connect with our mission to Inspire Hope.
