THE ROLE Abridge is expanding beyond physicians and into broader care team workflows, and Nursing is one of Abridge’s most important new product areas. Nurses carry a large share of documentation and care coordination, especially in inpatient and ED settings. Their workflows involve frequent handoffs, fragmented data, and significant administrative load. As PM Lead for Nursing, you will own the nursing journey end to end. You will lead discovery with nurses and nursing leaders, set product strategy, and work closely with engineering, design, clinical science, machine learning, and customer teams to build experiences that nurses return to throughout their shifts. The opportunity is to combine conversations, longitudinal chart context, and explicit nurse direction to help nurses understand their patients, document efficiently, coordinate care, and get work done. You will shape the end-to-end Nursing experience across Abridge surfaces and EHR integrations and partner closely with clinical experts, engineering, design, and health system leaders. This is a hybrid role, with a preference for this PM to be based out of NYC, but open to SF. WHAT YOU’LL DO - Lead Nursing product strategy and discovery. Define the product vision and roadmap for Nursing across inpatient, ED, and ambulatory use cases. Identify and prioritize workflows that create real time time savings, operational ROI, and measurable impact for health systems. - Deliver clinician love for a new user type. Conduct deep user research with nurses, nurse managers, and CNIOs to understand documentation patterns, care coordination gaps, and device-specific workflows. Test hypotheses quickly and iterate based on adoption, retention, and perceived time savings. - Deliver high quality Nursing workflows. Partner with engineering and design to build intuitive and reliable documentation and handoff experiences across mobile, desktop, and EHR surfaces. Support workflows like many-to-one documentation, team-based notes, carry-forward, and handoff summaries. - Integrate deeply with EHR and enterprise environments. Work across Epic, Cerner, and Meditech workflows to ensure we meet table stakes expectations and can scale nursing adoption inside large hospital systems. Ensure data and context flows align with our broader strategy of leveraging clinical context to create defensible value. - Define success and measure impact. Establish KPIs such as time saved per shift, documentation completeness, task throughput, and workflow adoption. Build a clear path to monetization and demonstrate early value through design partners and beta deployments. WHAT YOU BRING - 5+ years of product management experience with 0 to 1 ownership in a complex domain. - Strong ability to understand and design for highly variable workflows across settings and roles. - Experience partnering closely with engineering, design, and ML teams - Ability to translate strategic goals into clear product decisions, sequencing, and measurable outcomes. - Comfortable operating in ambiguity and creating structure where little exists. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, especially with clinical audiences. BONUS POINTS IF… - Experience working with clinical SMEs, and health system stakeholders. - You have worked directly with nursing, inpatient, or ED operational workflows. - You have experience with Electronic Health Records like Epic, Cerner, Meditech. - You have built productivity tools, workflow automation, or ambient intelligence products. - You have worked in health systems, health IT, or clinical operations roles. - You have hands-on experience shipping products that deliver measurable operational or financial ROI in healthcare. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR - We are looking for a candidate who is a “consumer / user PM” with a B2B background - Reference: Peter Deng’s five types of PMs (link https://lennysvault.com/insights/strategic-thinking/d580c3e3-0970-4634-aeb5-4ff4515256b8) - Key specific competencies for success in nursing include: - Deep user empathy + product taste [rationale: experience is the #1 risk in nursing] - Track record to execute on complex, cross-functional initiatives to deliver outcomes [rationale: alignment with inpatient, managing Epic dependencies] - Ability to synthesize complex and sometimes conflicting information (from market context to engagement data) to define roadmap [rationale: important to be able to cut through multiple factors, e.g. commercial / business context; team has, in the past, gotten stuck in the dynamics of Mayo + Epic] - Grit + resilience [rationale: building nursing is hard] - Candidates don't necessarily need to spike on nursing/healthcare expertise or insane technical depth (e.g. uthat of a research/platform PM).
